What is a DPF, and why do I need it cleaned?

A DPF is a diesel particulate filter. It captures and holds exhaust soot to reduce emissions on diesel cars. However, the DPF has a limited capacity, so the vehicle cleanly burns off this soot build up in the filter, known as regeneration, approximately every 300 miles.

However, it has been found that the regeneration process leaves residual ash behind in the filter. Each time a regeneration occurs more particles will build up in the filter. Over time this can lead to a blockage in the DPF and cause several issues with your engine.

The Procedure

2. Contact us to arrange collection*
3. We collect the DPF, clean it and return it to you
